Born in Haiti, Frito Bastien came to the United States in 1991 fleeing political turmoil under the Duvalier regimes. Collaborating with Philadelphia’s Mural Arts Program, Mr. Bastien created works depicting scenes and memories from Haiti. His murals and works on canvas describe both real and imagined landscapes filled with people and animals. Through his blending of narrative realism and dreamlike perspective, Mr. Bastien invites the viewer into his world.
Little Berlin is honored to present a solo exhibition of Frito Bastien’s work, on view December 2nd through December 17th. Please join us to celebrate at the opening reception Saturday December 2nd, 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
